Rural Society Spring Sale: May 3 and 4

It's just a couple more weeks until the Rural Society Spring Sale will be here!  Bethany Grubb of Antebellum Farmhouse will give a demonstration on "tablescaping", plus lots of other great vendors.

Don't forget to bring your wellies because this show is at a real working farm . . . sheep, chickens and all!

I'm packing up the gypsy wagon with my signature jewelry, plus some great new jewelry designs and whatever else I come up with between now and then.

Friday and Saturday, May 3 and 4 starting at 9AM at Warwick Farms in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.

Looking forward to seeing you there!

It's official . . . we are in contract!

Well, it's official.  Our house is in contract.  Two days after listing our For Sale by Owner MLS we had two offers.  Two days after that . . . we had a contract with a pre-approved financing letter accompanying it.  The buyer plans to finance the house with an FHA loan, but that made us wonder 1) how long will this process take 2) what sort of updates will we be required to do to meet Federal Housing Authorities guidelines and 3) what will the appraisal value be in comparison with our contracted price?  But today we got the news; 1) we don't have to fix a thing . . . and 2) the appraisal value was approved!  Now . . . to get everything packed and ready to be out of the house in 3 weeks.  This whole process went much faster than we anticipated.

In the meantime, I am getting my inventory together for the Spring Rural Society Sale in Mt. Vernon, Ohio.  I love this sweet little working farm . . . plan to attend on Friday, May 3 and Saturday May 4th.

Dad

You may have noticed that there hasn't been much activity here these past few months, my mind has been on my dad, Andrew.  Our family learned in late November that Dad had brain cancer called Glioma.   Of course, I had to Google it immediately to really understand what we are dealing with . . . you can learn more on Wikipedia.   Sadly, my dads' tumor progressed quickly.  We gathered by his bedside and held his hand and prayed until the earliest of hours on Saturday, March 16th when he joined our Savior, Jesus Christ, in heaven.

It's was a journey for us all . . . and it still is.  My days and nights have been consumed by all the wonderful memories we created along the way.   He will live in our hearts forever and we will cherish how much he added to all of our lives.

God bless Dad and may he rest in peace.

FSBO . . . oh dear!

Well, the time has come to pick up our stuff and move west . . . about an hour and half from here.  My dear husband, Matthew, is a teacher and has driven this route DAILY for the past 5 years.  So we recently took a little road trip to scope out the areas close to his schools.  Now that we have little Greta the school systems have become a big contender in this search.  But, I think we have narrowed it down and I hope to tell you more about it soon.

In the meantime, I've got to get our house in order to get it on the market.  Our game plan is to try selling it on our own first.  Suddenly, I am in high gear . . . it's like spring cleaning and purging and organizing . . . organizing . . . organizing.  A quick little ad on Craigslist this week while I get my fact sheets and contract together for the official FSBO.com listing.  I'm thinkin' an open house in March!  So much to do and need to work in the studio, too, for the upcoming Rural Society Spring Sale in May.  Oh dear!

[Big sigh] Our little home has so many memories, it will be sad to leave.

My real estate staging assistant . . . such a good lil' helper!

Sewing Class Schedule Winter 2013

Have I ever mentioned that I teach sewing classes in our hometown sewing shoppe, Sew to Speak, in Clintonville (a little section of north Columbus, OH)?  No?  Well, call me "silly" for not thinking of posting the class schedule here before.

Beginner's Apron:  February 7th 6-9PM (Class Full)
Beginner's Apron:  February 14th 6-9PM
Art Student Tote:  February 21 & 28 6-9PM
Parfait Dress:  March 7 & 14 6-9PM
Lady Grey Coat:  March 21 & 28 6-9PM

Contact me or the shoppe to register.  Space is limited, so don't delay.

If you prefer one-on-one sewing lessons, I am also available for private lessons in your home or my studio.  Another fun idea is to have a sewing soiree . . . gather your friends for an evening of sewing.  You pick the project and I will bring the supplies.
